NIT Rourkela invites applications for their Summer Internship program in multiple areas of engineering and sciences.
The duration of internship is May 16 to July 15, 2023.
There will be no stipend or fellowship provided, but accommodation will be provided in the campus hostels.
Eligibility for NIT Rourkela Internship
Students who have completed at least 4th semester of BE/B.Tech programs or at least 6th semester of integrated/dual degree programs are eligible to apply for this internship.
M.Sc/M.A students who have appeared at least 2nd semester are also eligible to apply.
Students in the final year or those who have completed their programs are not eligible.
Application Procedure
Interested students must apply online on the application portal on or before March 28, 2023.
Selection will be based on CGPA, LOR and understanding of the topic (from write-up).

Author’s note
It’s rather unfair that a reputed institution is not providing stipend to interns. However, internships shouldn’t be considered as something to be done for financial gain. Internships are more of a learning experience and considering that accommodation is being provided, it shouldn’t be an issue for most students.
If you are a student from a tier-2/tier-3 institute, a couple of months of exposure to an NIT will help you in your career. Most students are likely to have their semester break at this time, therefore it makes sense to apply for this internship.
