The Science Academies Summer Research Fellowship Program offers selected candidates the opportunity to engage in summer research projects, with hands-on experience and mentorship in the field of science.
The program is jointly conducted by three prominent scientific organizations: the Indian Academy of Sciences (Bengaluru), the Indian National Science Academy (New Delhi), and The National Academy of Sciences, India (Prayagraj).
These academies collectively provide a platform for students and teachers to collaborate with eminent scientists, explore specific areas of interest, and contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge. This fellowship encourages a passion for research and innovation in budding scientists.
Eligibility
For Students:
- Eligible candidates include students in various stages of education, such as BS, BSc, BStat, BPharm, BE, BTech, dual degrees (Integrated M.Sc, Integrated M.Tech, BE-MSc) and more.
- Minimum average marks of 65% from X std. to post-graduation (excluding languages).
- PhD students are not eligible.
- Those who have received this fellowship twice before cannot apply.
For Teachers:
- Must be teaching in a College/University.
- No specific minimum percentage requirement.
How to apply for the Fellowship
Application submission is online via the SRPF 2024 Portal.
- Applicants should include a 150-250 word write-up about their specific area of interest and what they wish to achieve during the fellowship. Write ups have to be original, and written by the applicant themselves.
- Include these enclosures
- Upload scanned mark sheets in JPEG format (students)
- Teacher applicants should upload their publications, if any.
- A letter of authorization from the Principal/HoD is required for teachers.
- Student applicants must provide contact details of a present teacher for a recommendation letter.
- Deadline for submission: 15th November 2023.
