IIT Delhi is inviting applications for a summer research fellowship from non IIT students. The duration of this fellowship is 8-12 weeks.
Undergraduate students who have completed at least 2 years of study at any non-IIT institution in India or abroad are eligible to apply for this fellowship. They also need to be among the top 10 ranks in their programme of study.
Benefits of IIT Delhi’s Summer Fellowship
Students will be paid ₹500 per week as fellowship.
They will also be paid cost of travel in train (sleeper class) from anywhere in India.
They will be provided accommodation in IIT Delhi hostels during the time of stay on the campus.
Application procedure
Apply online at the IIT Delhi fellowship portal.
You will need a certificate from your institution certifying that you are among the top 10 students of your batch.
The deadline to apply is April 17, 2023.
The list of selected students will be displayed by the last week of April.
Research work starts after May 16, 2023.
Should you apply?
This is a very good opportunity for non-IIT students to experience the facilities at an IIT. It is encouraging that IIT is taking an initiative to exclude other IITians from applying for this fellowship, because in most cases, we see other IIT students bagging these opportunities and tier 2 and 3 college students being excluded.
Such fellowships can add value to your resume, if you are applying for higher studies.
Since accommodation and travel tickets are included and a stipend is provided, there’s no reason to not apply for this fellowship.
