Should you consider Jadavpur University for B.Tech?

You may have to travel to Kolkata to write the exam, which should be fine, if you live in neighbouring states like Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Assam, Sikkim etc.
Even if you are from other states and are attempting the JEE-Mains/Advanced, the WBJEE can be a second option if things don’t go as per plan. Jadavpur University is considered better than some of the newer NITs like NIT-AP, NIT-Goa etc. where the fees are much higher.
While the NIT/IIT brand can seem a little more attractive on the face of it, only the top old NITs and IITs have the faculty and infrastructure to impart quality education. Some of the newer NITs and IITs do not even have permanent campus or hostels at the time of writing this article. They share the campuses of some local colleges, which defeat the purpose of getting into an IIT/NIT.
If your aim is to get good quality education at low cost and get placed in a good company, Jadavpur University is definitely one you should consider.
